First of all, I would like to appreciate the efforts that our honorable PM Narendra Modi is making in making India a better country. At around 8:15 PM today, when I was just going to have a call with a client, my boss asked “Did you hear the news?”. I was like who is getting married man! That’s when I found out that Rs 500 and Rs100 currency notes are being declared void. It was infact “the news” which is going to be remembered as a “Day of Common People”. Demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes means that Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency denomination is useless from now and will remain useless if that is not your hard earned money. This is a great step towards curbing the black money, corruption, terror funding, etc. Government is getting us the new Rs 500 and Rs 2000 currency notes. RBI says new notes will be in circulation soon. And the way Modi Ji is working, that should happen pretty fast!

I was amazed to see people at Chandigarh going crazy. As Petrol Pumps can accept the Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes, everyone is heading to spend the currency they have.

Also, as banks will be closed for tomorrow, people are running to ATMs to withdraw money.

2. Banks will be closed tomorrow but it is a working day for bank employees.

3. If you have legal money, you can get it exchanged till Dec 31, 2016.

4. There will be no effect on online transactions.

5. For the next 72 hours, the currency will work in hospitals, pharmacies, railway stations and airports.

So, this is a great news for each one of us who doesn’t have black money. Many rich people won’t be able to sleep today or may be for months.
